EXPRESS ENTRY (EE) SYSTEM

Canada’s Express Entry (EE) System is an application process used by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), to select skilled immigrants to become permanent residents in Canada. In order to become a permanent resident, the applicant needs to enter the pool for Express Entry. To enter the pool the applicant must meet the Express Entry Canada requirements by qualifying for one of the following Canadian immigration programs.

Express Entry encompasses three Canadian immigration programs:

In order to qualify for one of the above programs, the applicant must meet certain criteria set out in both legislation and regulation. The criteria are:

  • skills
  • education
  • language ability (English/French)
  • work experience
  • other factors

Once in the pool, applicants are selected on a merit based on the points they have been awarded on the skills above. The applicants with the most points, are invited to immigrate to Canada. Based on the information provided in their application under EE, candidates obtain a score under Express Entry’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) that determines their ranking in the pool of eligible candidates.

Periodically, the Government of Canada issues Invitations To Apply (ITAs) to the highest-ranked candidates in the Express Entry pool and publishes the CRS cut-off score. CRS scores are not fixed and candidates may take steps to improve their ranking while in the pool.

Knowing the EE System thoroughly maximises one’s chances of success. This is exactly where our skills come in, we will identify the stream you best fit in, as well as how to get the maximum amount of points for you.
